Application
For the upcoming September competition, we are happy to receive your application at any time. However, in order to maintain the quality of faculty/student contact time, we do limit the number of students we admit to the program each academic year.
Application Fee
The required $90 application fee must accompany your application. This fee is non-refundable and must be paid in Canadian dollars by means of a credit card payment or a cheque drawn on a Canadian bank made payable to McMaster University. Cheques drawn on Canadian banks should also include a $15 processing fee for a total of $105.
Required Documents
The following items are required before your online application will be considered complete. These documents should be sent to the School of Engineering Practice.
- One official transcript of academic work completed to date, sent directly from the issuing institution. If the final transcript does not show that a completed degree has been conferred, an official copy of your diploma is also required.
- Two confidential MEEI evaluation letters from instructors most familiar with your academic work. Recommendations must be provided directly from the instructors. Click here to download the Evaluation Form.
- If English is not your native language, an official copy of your TOEFL score, or other evidence of competency in English. A minimum TOEFL (iBT) score of 80 (550 on the paper-based TOEFL test or 213 on the computer-based TOEFL test) is needed for the Faculty of Engineering, and a minimum of 92 (580 or 237) for all other Faculties. Some departments may require higher scores.
- A statement of interest indicating why you wish to pursue a Master of Engineering Entrepreneurship and Innovation. A graduate of a university outside Canada may also be required to submit a description of undergraduate and graduate courses taken in the field of specialization and in cognate fields.
- Applicants with a Bachelor of Technology degree need to submit Graduate Record Examination (GRE) score reports. GRE score reports are to be sent directly to the GMC Centre for Engineering Design. Minimum required scores are 550 on the Verbal test, 550 on the Qualitative test, 1200 on the Verbal and Quantitative tests combined, and 3.5 on Analytical Writing.
- Resume
Applications may be submitted (by mail to the address below or online using the online application at any time. However, most University scholarships and awards are adjudicated in late March or early April, so students applying later than March cannot be considered for these awards. Applications from outside Canada should be completed at least five months before the desired date of entry in order to allow for any delays and for obtaining the necessary visa.
